The IoT Survey 2019 is the world’s first biennial survey of IoT platform users, based on a sample of over 2,000 survey responses. The results offer an unsurpassed level of user feedback on 38 leading IoT solutions. They will serve as an invaluable resource to companies deciding which platform to use and to vendors wanting to understand the needs of the market.

The results of The IoT Survey 2019 are displayed in the form of KPI dashboards, to provide the reader with precise information at a glance. The KPIs are all based on the following rules:

  • We have chosen only such parameters found to be of the greatest importance to users.

  • The KPIs may be based on one or more parameters from The IoT Survey.

  • Only IoT platforms evaluated by at least 30 respondents are included. This applies to each of the questions that feed into the KPI.

  • The KPIs are converted to a scale of 1 to 10 (worst to best).

  • A linear min-max transformation is applied, which preserves the order of, and the relative distance between, products’ scores.

  • In case two or more platforms have the same score, their rankings are determined based on the next decimal place.

The IoT Survey 2019 features a range of different types of IoT platforms to identify competing products and to allow a fair and useful comparison of products likely to compete. The peer groups have been defined by PAC analysts using their experience and judgment, the segmentation being based on company size, geographical locationas well as functionality-related factors.

In The IoT Survey 2019, we had 2,031 responses from IoT platform users.
